Relocation Assistance:

Financial relocation assistance is  available for residents required to move.  The relocation allowance is $2.00 per mile up to a maximum of $1,200.  Mileage for reimbursement is based upon mileage figures from the Rand McNally Atlas.


Three weeks paid vacation per year (15 working days).

Health & Dental Insurance:

Residents and immediate family are offered a shared cost health plan through the Blue Cross Blue Shield University Health Plan.  

Comprehensive long-term disability provided at no cost to residents.

Professional Liability Coverage:

Coverage for professional activities scheduled by the department Residency Director is provided at no cost to residents.

Life Insurance:

125% of salary. 

Tuition Reimbursement:

Partial tuition reimbursement of college courses for self, spouse or children at the University of South Alabama provided after six months employment.

Bookstore Discounts:

Ten percent discount on books and supplies at the University of South Alabama Bookstore.

Recreational Facilities:

Residents have use of the University of South Alabama Student Recreational Center for $10/month. The Rec Center offers a variety of services including cardiovascular fitness equipment (treadmills, elliptical machines, stairclimbers, stationary bicycles), weight lifting (free weights and machines), indoor track, basketball courts, ping pong tables, racquetball courts, indoor soccer court, indoor and outdoor pools, rock climbing wall, and multiple fitness/aerobics classes.
