Allen

R. Allen Perkins, MD

Professor, Department Chair

Dr. Perkins has been our Program Director since July 1999 and he has served as the department chair since 2005. His clinical practice incorporates the full spectrum of Family Medicine. He teaches several of the procedural components including obstetrical ultrasound. His academic interests are focused on improving care delivery to underserved populations and care of patients with chronic diseases.

Dr. Perkins’ family includes his wife Danielle, son Henry, and daughter Lucy.  He enjoys scuba diving, running, and spending time at the beach with his family.

Ehab

Ehab Molokhia, MD

Assistant Professor, Medical Director

Ehab joined our faculty after completing his residency with us.  Ehab's hometown is Ann Arbor, MI. He did all of his undergraduate work as well as earned his medical degree from University of Alexandria in Alexandria, Egypt. His father devoted himself as the head of the Egyptian equivalent to our FDA before retiring from this position. Ehab enjoys swimming, playing pool and photography. Ehab and his wife, Doaa, are the proud parents of a darling son, Omar. The Molokhias are graciously allowed to live in the home of a finicky domestic feline named Pearl.

Shyla Reddy, MD

Assistant Professor, Geriatrician

Shyla completed her residency with us and subsequently joined as a faculty. Shyla's interest in medicine began in middle school and continued over the years. She enjoys interacting with patients, their families and in creating a better life. Her family includes husband V.J., daughter Sunya and son Venn.

 

Tangela

Tangela Atkinson, MD

Assistant Professor

Tangela joined our faculty jan 2006.  She completed her residency with us in 2002. She spent four years in private practice before rejoining.  She earned her medical degree from Univ.of Fl col of med.  Tangela enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 sons. She enjoys traveling, movies and attending her sons' sporting events.  Events in football, basketball, track, and soccer fill most of her free time.

 

D'ana

Michael M. Linder, MD

Associate Professor | Director, Sports Medicine in Primary Care

Dr. Linder joined our faculty in 2006 as an Associate Professor. He was previously Residency Director (1990-2004) and Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program (1994-2006) at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. 

In addition to his academic pursuits and clinical practice, he has had affiliations with the Huntsville Lasers Global Basketball Association, the Huntsville Blast East Coast Hockey League, and the Huntsville Flight – the National Basketball Development League as Team Physician.  Now he will develop a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at USA.  

Dr. Linder and his wife, Dr. Carol Motley, are the parents of three daughters – Lauren, Charlotte (C.C.), and Alicia.  They reside in Spanish Fort.

 

D'ana

Carol Motley, MD

Associate Professor

Dr. Motley joined our faculty in 2006 as an Associate Professor. Prior to her appointment with us she was in private practice in Huntsville, Alabama for several years.  Before that time she held academic appointments at the University of Alabama, Huntsville and the Family Practice Residency, Emory University School of Medicine in Columbus, GA. 

Dr. Motley’s clinical practice encompasses the full range of Family Medicine as well as Obstetrics and Women’s Health.  She also serves as the Department’s Advisor to the Family Medicine Interest Group. 

 

R L Duffy, MD

R. Lamar Duffy, MD

Assistant Professor

Following two years as adjunct staff, Lamar joined our faculty full time in July 2007.  Prior to his appointment, he was in private practice in the Mobile area for twenty years.  A graduate of the University of South Alabama, he has been an active member of the Medical Alumni Association, serving as President 2006-2008.  Lamar and his wife Paula are blessed with a wonderful daughter, Caitlyn. Dr. Duffy is intereseted in health maintenance and medical uses for computer technology. When not doctoring he enjoys playing guitar, songwriting, audio/video editing, astronomy, and calligraphy.

 

Marty

Martha S. Adams, PhD

Adjunct Associate Professor

Marty has been with the Department since 1997 as a member of the faculty in Behavioral Science.  She was instrumental in developing the program to respond to victims of domestic violence through the weekly clinic at the Penelope House Shelter for battered women.  She consults with residents about behavioral issues in their patients in clinic and works with residents as a co-counselor with their continuity patients.  She is one of the course directors for the Behavioral Science course for the College of Medicine.  She is currently using her organizational and planning abilities to modify the Behavioral Medicine curriculum in the residency program, changing it from a block rotation to a longitudinal one. 

Marty is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors, the Academy of Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselors, and the American Academy of Medical Psychotherapists.  She is a Diplomat of the Society for Behavioral Medicine.  In the past Marty worked for the Mobile Mental Health Center.   Before becoming a counselor she was an X-Ray technician and worked in a pediatrician’s office.

 

D'ana

D'ana D. Snow, PhD

Adjunct Associate Professor

D’ana is half-time Behavioral Science faculty for the Department. She provides training and consultation for our residents in the area of psychosocial issues. She was involved in the development of the Family Practice Clinic held at Penelope House, the shelter for battered women and their children, which provides a training site for a model of integrated care. She co-leads Balint groups for professional development for residents. She particularly enjoys working with the residents and their patients in the exam room and also in conjoint counseling sessions. D’ana is also Co-course Director for Behavioral Science for the medical school and teaches this course to second year students.

D’ana is dual-licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and as a Professional Counselor. She has maintained a private psychotherapy and consulting practice since l972. Her extensive experience in the field of psychology and mental health includes being a psychologist at Bryce State Hospital and the Pediatric Department at UAB Medical Center. She began her work life demonstrating and selling lawnmowers!

 

Howard

Howard Rubenstein, MD

Adjunct Associate Professor

Howard has been on faculty since 1995 as an adjunct clinical associate professor. Howard originally hails from Chicago, IL. He attended medical school at University of Illinois, Chicago, and completed a Family Medicine Residency in Pensacola, Florida at the University Hospital. He has been in private practice in Saraland (a suburb of Mobile) since 1985. He is very active in his community, serving as a city councilman. He is also an active member of the private hospital’s medical staff. He is married to Tamara Johnson. He contributes approximately 5% of his time to the department

 

Angela Vinti, PharmD

Angela Vinti, PharmD

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Dr. Vinti holds a full-time Assistant Clinical Professor appointment
with the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy on the Mobile
Satellite Campus. She joined our faculty after spending two years as an
Assistant Professor at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. Dr. Vinti's
hometown is Buffalo, NY. She achieved her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University at Buffalo, and completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency, with an emphasis in community care, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Vinti's clinical practice focuses on adult
chronic disease state management, specializing in diabetes care and
education. In her free time, she enjoys singing, swimming, seafood, and
hockey.

Brock Woodis, PharmD

Brock Woodis, PharmD

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Brock joined USA Family Medicine as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in 2007.  He is a Clinical Assistant Professor with Auburn University as well as an AU alumnus.  He completed both a post-graduate pharmacy practice residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC and a specialty pharmacy residency focusing on family medicine pharmacotherapy at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.  In 2006, Dr. Woodis became a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).

Professional interests include women’s health topics such as infertility and contraception as well as autoimmune disorders including rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.
